Welcome to my blog!! And thanks for hopping along with us Stampin' Friends! Stampin' Up! has so many lovely floral options-- but I wanted to combine some retiring items (Flowers for Every Season, both the DSP and Cards & Envelopes are on sale) with a new stamp set that comes out May 4th (Flowers of Friendship)! This week on my Facebook Live I made a cute and fast chapstick holder that just takes one 3.5 x 5 inch pieces of DSP. Check out the video here! I give all the measurements and some good tips on how to assemble them! I used the retiring DSP and the new stamp set here too, plus the Faceted Gems (which are not retiring, thank goodness)! I can't wait to see what everyone else has created!! Keep hopping along to enjoy all the flowery goodness...
Hugs, Melissa

Welcome to A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop! Thanks for hopping over here from Sara's blog! Didn't you love her projects? With this month's box I knew I would love the mountain look but what I was most excited about was the stencils!
I love a purple Easter card and the craft envelopes gave me a great idea! So I cut an envelope up and put it through the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder with Cinnamon Cider Ink on the embossing folder. I then put Bumblebee Ink on a piece of white cardstock and then ran it through the Subtle Embossing folder. The sentiment is from Springtime Joy stamp set and the punch is the Story Label Punch.
Now I knew I wanted to use the envelope liners for something and they make the perfect belly band on this 3x3 acetate box. I embossed it with the Greenery embossing folder and then added a sentiment from Springtime Joy punched with the Classic Label punch. I then made a bunny with the Daisy punch (thanks to my team member Terry who showed me how!) and added a a double bow with the included twine. (Did you know that a cute post-it note pack fits in here? I got mine from Walmart!)
Isn't this a cute Easter set? I sent the card to my sister-in-law (sssshhhh) and the package is going into Marianne's Easter basket!
Hope you loved these projects and please make sure to keep hopping along!
Happy crafting,
Melissa P.S. Don't miss out on the next one-- subscribe with me by Saturday, April 10th! Welcome to the March edition of the Stampin Friends Blog Hop! Do you know what color combo I love most? Yep, a solo combo! lol! I do monochromatic cards ALL THE TIME so I was really pumped that we picked this theme! I designed my card class last month all around the Sand and Sea Suite from Stampin' Up! and couldn't wait to show off the Designer Series Paper. This card base is made of just DSP (4 x 11 inch piece, scored at 2.75 inches from each end). I used Flirty Flamingo ink for the sentiment and the seashells (stamped off to give a lighter look). What I really love is the look on the inside (so you can see the full spread of the DSP- I know that it's not quite monochromatic but... it's so pretty) and the Pearlescent paper as the inside piece. Ballpoint pens write great on it! My 3D project is one of those ginormous Love You Always Treat Box-- it's so large it holds a Perfectly Posh Chunk Bath Bar or any other large soap bar! I trimmed away the excess pieces around a Flirty Flamingo embossed shell die cut from Seaside Seashells dies. I then wrapped a piece of the DSP around the box and attached the sentiment piece to the front! Hope you loved these pink projects! Don't forget to keep hopping along...

Welcome to our first blog hop of 2021!! Thanks for hopping over here from Rachel's blog. I love everything she does! We had a chance to chat at Stampin' Up!'s large convention a few years back and she's an inspiration for sure.
For my card I knew I wanted to use the large scattered heart image to do some emboss resist and I think it turned out gorgeous! I added a Poppy Parade card base, half of a patterned card base to make the kit go farther, and then die cut with the Stitched Rectangles die a piece of Basic White cardstock. I heat embossed with Clear embossing powder the scattered hearts and then used a Blend Brush to add an ombre look with Pool Party on the front. Then I just stamped the LOVE in Memento Black ink on the bottom and made a little flag with one of the kit pieces with the YOU stamped in Poppy Parade. Stunning yes?
Now my 3D project was something I had in the mind the minute I saw the red envelopes in the kit! I knew I wanted to make a large treat bag from it and it is so easy!
I haven't done it in years, but you just seal the envelope up, score on three sides at 1/2 inch, and then trim the top with some pinking shears. Once you have those score lines you can crease them back and forth and the stick your hand inside the envelope to make the bag. Fold the two bottom corners into points and anchor those down with a glue dot. It helps to put something heavy in the bag, like chocolate (wink wink) to weigh it down!
Then on the front of the bag, I put one of the cute mailbox pieces, all stamped, and accessorized, plus I added some Just Jade grass with my Stampin Write Marker and a snail from the add-on kit. I punched two holes in the top to seal the bag and used a double piece of the included black riboon to tie a bow!
Don't forget to keep hopping along... I cannot wait to see what all my crafty friends have in store for us this month. Happy crafting, Melissa Welcome to my blog and 2021!! What a fun way to start off the year- celebrating birthdays! I fell in love with the Flowering Cactus Medley in Stampin' Up!'s January-June mini catalog. So much so that I planned a weekend retreat for it this weekend! These Love You Always treat boxes (Item #154285) also drew my eye, so combining the two makes an adorable combo! The cacti are so easy to stamp-- I did the rock and roll technique with Mint Macaron and then rolled the edges in Highland Heather ink! And the matching dies make cutting the cacti and the DSP with the preprinted images SO easy! But you seriously have to see these boxes to appreciate how big they are! They fit a Perfectly Posh Chunk Bar-- which are HUGE!! For my card project I used the new Blending Brushes on some Shimmery White cardstock with the colors Melon Mambo, Calypso Coral, and Mango Melody for the background. You can see a video on my Facebook page here! I really love this card! Hope you do too! If you like that video- consider joining me- I do a live demonstration every Wednesday at 7pm Central. Don't forget to keep hopping along as I can't wait to see what our Stampin' Friends have in store to celebrate birthdays!
Melissa It's a pleasure to participate in our last hop of 2020 here at Stampin Friends! I know I haven't been the most consistent blogger this year, but well, 2020 took us all for a spin, right? I am excited to wrap up the year to showcase the Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper for a variety of holiday season needs... I made a few cards that highlight the paper. First, this Christmas card to focus on the peace of this season and the ending of a tumultuous year. This Hanukkah card was made for a special friend from Charleston and really showcases that Balmy Blue Glimmer paper. Wowzer! This final project showcases the pretty paper to make a folder with four thank you notecards inside-- this would make a lovely gift! I will be offering this as my Virtual Card Class post Christmas this year -- if you are interested in joining please email me! Hopefully you have loved these samples and they inspire you to cut up that paper!! Don't forget to keep hopping along...
Happy crafting, Melissa
Thanks for hopping over here from Andrea's blog! She is just the best— we love running into each other at Stampin’ Up! conferences and I’m so thankful for her crafty friendship! The Christmas card Paper Pumpkin is always so popular... and this one is no different! I love the wreaths and all the gold pieces!
The gold and crumb cake card bases are gorgeous too! Plus the stamp set is amazing!
Last week I made one of the cards on my Facebook Live, just to show how quick they come together! I also put it on my YouTube channel! And that's where I talked about this cool item.
These are actually my Christmas gifts for subscribers this year- mason jar lids-- and they have such a great purpose in our craft rooms... You put it on a mason jar and then you can store all of the twine that you get in your Paper Pumpkin boxes! You just thread the twine through the holes in the top. It's functional and pretty!
Sometimes when we get floral images that I don't love I like to use them in repetition (like I did with the Wildflower Wishes Paper Pumpkin in April 2018). In this case, I didn't feel that the flowers looked very "Christmasy"-- so I decided to make a Valentine's Day card. All I added was a Crumb Cake card base and a piece of Whisper White cardstock plus a scrap of Just Jade ribbon I had.
Now make sure to keep hopping because this group has the best alternative projects I have ever seen!!!
If you loved this kit--- you can get refill!! But move quickly! They will sell out. You do have to be a current subscriber to pick up a refill kit.
Happy crafting., Melissa This month's Designer Series Paper Sale inspired me to revisit some of my old blog posts where I use DSP to do some pretty great things... Here are my top 10 favorite posts, but don't miss out on getting these 15 packs of paper for 15% off-- all but one pack are under $10! You can see all the paper packs for sale here! And to sweeten the deal, for every 5 packs of paper I sell I will giveaway a FREE STAMP SET! For every pack of DSP that you purchase you will earn an entry into the prize drawing but you must use Hostess Code M7UJ4XTF by October 30th! #10: Mini Coffee Cups #6: Framed Art Piece #2: Box Bags
Thanks for hopping over here from Andrea's blog! I just love her and her projects-- always! I was so excited for this month's kit as I hoped that I could use some for Halloween (just a quiet event on our street this year) and some for our Thanksgiving tablescape! They will make cute placecards!
I don't really love lots of tiny things but the treat packages are adorable and the cats-- eeeeekkk! I had a black cat for a few years in college and law school (Stormy). She was the best!! Then my friend Bobbiejean took her after I got married to Jonathan (who is allergic to cats...)
Normally I do a card and 3D project but when we get a bunch of 3D projects I usually showcase two cards and I really love these! The first one features the pieces of paper that remind me of the Spanish banners... papel picado. And the small buffalo check diamonds from the cracker boxes!
And the second card was fun to make. I traced a circle from a die set and then just used a million glue dots to glue down all the colored leaves. I did trim the one stitched rectangle down to put behind the Give Thanks banner.
I hope you loved these projects-- keep hopping along! And if you want to see my make the first card live-- check out my Facebook live here! Follow my Facebook page-- I go live every Wednesday!!
Happy crafting, Melissa Thanks for hopping over here from Barbara's blog! She always does great work! Honestly, nothing gets me more excited than the arrival of fall. I absolutely love everything about the fall and the fact that it leads to my birthday, Christmas, our anniversary, my husband's birthday, and my daughter's birthday (my six favorite weeks of the year)-- well that just means that the arrival of fall is super celebrated over here. I love all of the traditional fall things- pumpkins, football, pumpkin bread, Pumpkin Spice Latte, candles, decorations, and I always love all the fall items that Stampin' Up! sells. This year is no different. And once I saw this Pumpkin Spice hot cocoa at Target, I knew exactly what I wanted to do! BTW-- it's delicious! It's like a spicier version of Mexican Hot Chocolate! I used the sentiment from the Love of Leaves stamp set, the Apple Builder Punch, and the beautiful Plaid Tidings paper, plus the ribbon from the Flowers for Every Season Combo Ribbon Pack and the Painted Label Dies. I hope you love this card that I designed with the Gilded Autumn paper and the Love of Leaves stamp set and dies! This fall Love of Leaves has been a favorite bundle of mine. There is so much subtle detailing with all the stitching around the leaves. And the sentiments-- I just love them. Hope is all I've got right now.... Don't forget to keep hopping along to see everyone's fantastic projects! Steph is up next and she always has great projects!
And if you like these projects then RSVP for my Love of Leaves October Monthly Class, Sunday, September 27 from 2-4pm Central. We do the class on Zoom and it is so fun! It is FREE with a $35 order on this hostess code (HJ24DSTX) by Monday, September 20th or with a $15 flat fee. Happy crafting,
